Registration is now open for the 2015-16 Youth Futsal Leagues, which begins Dec 1, for U9-U12 boys and girls. The league is coordinated by the Marquette University Soccer School and all futsal matches will be played on campus, inside Marquette Gym.
Futsal is a 5-on-5 indoor soccer game played around world. It is played with a ball smaller than an official size 5 soccer ball, which develops players reflexes and helps establish touch and technique.
Matches will be played weekly, concluding with the last day of playoffs (FINALS) at the end of Jan, 2016. Game lengths are 12 minute halves, stopped clock with one timeout per half. Rosters are limited to 15 players maximum.
2015-16 futsal league cost is $549, which includes six games and a final for the top 2 teams in the league. If you are registering 2 teams $999 -- Registration deadline Nov 1st.
$999 splitting into 2 teams (please call to register)
*Club Discount if more than 5 teams (please call to register)
The matches are nothing more than organized pickup games. The teams are picked randomly at the start of each night. Summer League T-shirts are the kits. The last man back on defense plays goalkeeper. Games involve three sessions of 25 minutes, separated by much-needed five-minute breaks. There's a warm-up run around the pitch to start and, occasionally, an abdominal workout to finish.
Marquette Men's Soccer tournaments are open to any and all participants; limited only by age, grade level, and/or gender.
